Pierce Brosnan Shares “Certain Agreement” With Helen Mirren’s James Bond Sexism Comments

James Bond might have some toxic traits, but it appears that Pierce Brosnan is a feminist.

After most recently starring together in Guy Ritchie’s MobLand, new episodes streaming Sundays on Paramount+, the Bond veteran agreed with co-star Helen Mirren ‘s critique that the 007 franchise is “drenched and born out of profound sexism.” Mirren, who plays London crime family matriarch Maeve Harrigan in MobLand, previously prefaced that she’s “a massive fan” of her onscreen husband Bronsan, before telling The Standard that the 007 franchise “ was not my thing.” “We are committed to honoring the legacy of this iconic character, while bringing a fresh, exhilarating new chapter to audiences around the world alongside Amy and David,” said Valenti, head of Film, Streaming and Theatrical.
