Pictures of a princess! How Diana's innocence and emotion was captured by a special royal photographer

EXCLUSIVE: Lord Snowdon spent years photographing the royal family, but one of his most iconic images was lost in an office until it was rediscovered during a post-Covid lockdown clear-out

Lord Snowdon's photographs of Lady Diana Spencer perfectly captured her transformation from debutante to Princess - and his collection included a particularly special image that was lost for over 30 years. It was similar to another shot taken by Lord Snowdon of a much younger Prince posing by a tree in the gardens of Buckingham Palace wit his mum, the Queen, and Princess Anne reading a book together. Although his marriage to the Princess ended in 1978, Snowdon maintained a close relationship with the family and was the only photographer to be granted sittings with the Queen throughout her long reign, firstly as young mother and new monarch, right through to her Diamond wedding anniversary and her 80th birthday.
