Peter Kay's notorious joke that caused mums to call him 'absolutely abhorrent'

Peter Kay was forced to kick two people out of his Manchester gig at the weekend as the comedian was heckled with one man shouting 'garlic bread' - but it is not the first time he has found himself in controversy

One audience member, who later said he felt like a "terrorist", was removed for yelling out "garlic bread", while another woman, likened by Kay to Lisa Riley, was also shown the door. The beloved comedian explained that he had "no choice" but to have security step in at Manchester's AO Arena due to "repeated disruptions" making it tough to carry on with his Saturday performance. A particular line from an iconic TV show five years ago led to nearly 200 formal complaints to the BBC, reports the Manchester Evening News.
