Pete Hegseth Chides Former Fox News Colleague Jennifer Griffin As “About The Worst” During Defense Secretary’s Press-Bashing Briefing
Hegseth lashed out at Griffin as he defended the U.S. strikes on Iran.
The purpose of the press conference, in which Hegseth was joined by Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, appeared to be to push back on a report earlier this week. Griffin, the chief national security correspondent at the Pentagon, asked Hegseth whether he had “certainty that all the highly enriched uranium was in the Fordow mountain, or some of it, because satellite photos showed there was more than a dozen trucks there two days in advance. At the start of his press conference, Hegseth complained that the DIA assessment was “leaked because someone had an agenda to try and muddy the waters and make it look like this historic strike wasn’t successful.”
