Pet Rescue Comedy In Works At CBS From ‘Frasier’ Co-EP Lauren Houseman & The Lonely Island

'Frasier' co-ep Lauren Houseman & The Lonely Island are developing a pet rescue comedy series for CBS.

Sheltered is a single-cam series that tells the story of the misfit volunteers at an overworked and underfunded pet rescue who often feel as complicated, lonely, and ‘unlovable’ as the difficult dogs and cats in their care. Executive producing alongside Houseman are The Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer as well as Ali Bell of the company’s banner Party Over Here. CBS doesn’t have a signature single-camera workplace comedy at the moment, something ABC has with Abbott Elementary, NBC with newcomer St. Denis Medical and Fox with Animal Control.
