People puzzled as they discover what fourth side of cheese grater is really used for

A Reddit user has shared a clever kitchen hack involving a cheese grater - and it turns out we've been using the kitchen tool wrong for years without even realising

From using the hole in your spaghetti spoon to help you measure the perfect portion of pasta to adjusting dishwashers for sky-high glassware, the kitchen is home to a whole host of hacks that’ll spice up your life - and the same can be said for your box grater. The kitchen gurus over at Marthastewart.com have even been serving up advice on the art of using a grater, writing: "The smaller shredding holes are designed to finely grate cheese, chocolate, vegetables, and more." The minute holes are just perfect for achieving delicate cheese strands that blend effortlessly into dressings and sauces, which, as Reddit users highlighted, is ideal for zesting lemons or grating soft nutmeg.
