He has played the lead role of stalker-turned-serial killer Joe Goldberg in the hit psychological drama since its inception in 2018.
You first premiered in 2018 on Lifetime, chronicling Joe's experiences in New York City where he becomes infatuated with NYU graduate student and writer Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail). Transitioning to Netflix for its second season, the show relocated to Los Angeles, depicting Joe, now assuming the identity of Will Bettelheim, working at a bookstore and falling for heiress and wellness expert Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti). Badgley shared behind-the-scenes photos from the video shoot on the night it premiered and thanked Grande for including him in the project that's part of her new album, Eternal Sunshine.
