Peacock Orders Crime Drama From ‘Beef’ Writer, Josh & Benny Safdie, A24
Peacock has given out a series order to a crime drama currently titled "Superfakes," Variety has learned.
The series hails from creator Alice Ju, who will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Per the official logline, “Superfakes” is said to follow “a small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer who enters a dangerous black market underworld in order to fund a life of suburban respectability for her family.” The Safdies most recently collaborated with A24 on the Showtime series “The Curse,” which they both executive produced under the Elara Pictures banner.
