Pauline Quirke, 65, has been living with dementia for FOUR years after learning of diagnosis aged 61 - as star is set to 'step away' from acting duties to 'spend time with her family'
Her husband Steve Sheen announced in a statement on Monday that the the Birds Of A Feather star, 65, is set to 'step away from all commercial and professional duties'.
'Demonstrating her acting versatility, she also starred or appeared in more than 60 TV and film productions, including Carrie's War, North and South, Casualty, Cold Blood, Thieving Headmistress, My Family, You, Me and the Apocalypse, and of course Emmerdale. Despite Emmerdale's plan to 'drive constructive debate over this sensitive subject', the hard-hitting storyline was widely criticised by viewers and groups including the spinal cord injury support organisation Aspire, who accused the ITV soap of 'sensational misrepresentation'. She also starred as Susan Wright in the ITV drama Broadchurch in 2013, alongside David Tennant and Olivia Colman, which focused on the residents of a sleep seaside town after schoolboy Danny Latimer is found dead on the beach.
