Paul O'Grady's husband explains sweet reason TV star 'would never allow' BBC News on the telly

One the first anniversary of Paul O'Grady's tragic death, his husband Andre Portasio has given an insight into his life and legacy, including how he never watched BBC News at home

The surprising admission came during Andre’s poignant interview with The Mirror, in which he recounted his husband’s final moments, which came at the end of an ordinary, but wonderfully relaxed day. Instead, Andre continued to watch the show until he noticed two of the family dogs coming in and out of the kitchen, something he initially believed meant Paul must have gone to the cottage in the grounds of the house which they were renovating. By the end of 2023, he believed he was finally in a place where he could make Christmas plans with Paul’s family, but sadly cancelled at the last minute as he didn’t feel ready.
