Paul Kelly has revealed the surprising reason he agreed to travel to a remote prison in Western Australia.

Warner Bros. Australia is producing the film based on the 1996 ballad How to Make Gravy, which tells the story of a convict who longs to be with his family at Christmas. The lyrics of the song, written in the form of a letter, caught the imagination of listeners so much so that for years fans have celebrated 'Gravy Day' on December 21. Kelly has won multiple awards since launching his music career in 1974 and he has a string of hits to his name, including cult favourite To Her Door from 1987.
