Paul Giamatti Joins Cast of Upcoming New 'Star Trek: Starflight Academy' Series, Will Play Show's First Villain

It was just announced on Tuesday (June 11) that the 57-year-old actor has been cast in a key, recurring role on the upcoming series Star Trek: Starflight Academy, Variety. He is the second actor announced for the series, joining Holly Hunter, who was previously revealed to be playing “the captain and chancellor of the Academy, presiding over both the faculty and a new class of Starfleet cadets as they learn to navigate the galaxy in the 32nd century.” Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.”
