Paul Auster, New York Trilogy author, dies just two years after deaths of son and granddaughter
Paul Auster, the award-winning author of The New York Trilogy, has died at the age of 77 after a battle with lung cancer, his friend and fellow author Jacki Lyden has confirmed
His writing style was characterized by Joyce Carol Oates in 2010 as "highly stylised, quirkily riddlesome postmodernist fiction in which narrators are rarely other than unreliable and the bedrock of plot is continually shifting".
