Pic moves away from Sony and Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day with Tom Holland, and onto a weekend where it’s up against New Line’s Evil Dead sequel. The Lauren Montgomery and William Mata directed movie follows Aang and his friends who are now young adults several years after the events of the ending of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The 2023 animated movie minted close to $182M worldwide in a strike-impacted box office and netted Paramount a near estimated $205M profit after all global home entertainment, streaming and TV ancillaries.
