Paralympian Shea Foster Is 'Devastated' to Withdraw for 'Medical Reasons'


Paralympic athlete Shea Foster, who previously survived a 2012 truck crash, is withdrawing from the 2024 Paris competition for undisclosed ‘medical reasons’

T38 is a Paralympics track & field classification for athletes with coordination impairments, such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis, many of which can be results of cerebral palsy. Olympians traditionally earn a generous monetary reward from their home country after clinching a gold, silver or bronze medal in their sport. “It’s on home soil, and I think we have a big chance and obligation of all Team USA Para athletes to continue to tell our stories and show that it’s OK to be different,” Foster said.
