Oscars viewers fume as ITV star takes brutal swipe at Demi Moore and The Substance

The 97th Academy Awards took place at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, but ITV viewers were left fuming at one star's swipe at Oscar nominated film The Substance

Jonathan Ross led the channel's Oscars coverage, joined by actor Jason Isaacs, journalist Mariella Frostrup and film expert Elle Osili-Wood. Before the ceremony kicked off at LA's Dolby Theatre, the panel discussed The Substance - a body horror nominated for Best Picture that earned Demi Moore her first Oscar nod at 62. During her heartfelt acceptance speech, Moore, who portrays a TV fitness instructor turning to a miracle drug after losing her job, shared how joining the acting organisation at 15 "changed my life because it gave me meaning".
