While The Nanny alum has had a wildly successful career as an actress, on this night she had an even higher purpose serving as the national president of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). 'I feel very honored to be representing SAG-AFTRA as the president after a long and arduous strike and now we come and celebrate this marvelous industry and ourselves triumphantly,' she told ABC's Mark S. Allen while making her way along the red carpet. Disagreements over streaming residuals and regulation of self-tape auditions studio usage of artificial intelligence ( AI) to scan actors' faces to generate performances digitally were two of the top issues being disputed.
