Oscars 2024 Nominations: ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Poor Things’ Earn Top Nods


2024 Oscars nominations were unveiled on Tuesday, January 23, during a livestream hosted by Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid.

And the only thing as exciting as seeing which directors, actors, screenwriters, and more take home an Oscar is knowing which ones have earned nominations for film’s top honor in the first place. The eligibility period was stuffed full of great film releases over the year, but none bigger in scale, spectacle, and social celebration than Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. And beneath the Barbenheimer of it all in 2023 were notable releases from Martin Scorsese, whose Killers of the Flower Moon was led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone; Yorgos Lanthimos with Poor Things, led by Emma Stone with Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe; Bradley Cooper with the self-starring and self-directed Maestro; and more.
