Oscar-Nominated Palestinian-Israeli Doc ‘No Other Land’ Scores U.K. TV Deal With Channel 4 (EXCLUSIVE)
Timely Oscar-nominated Palestinian-Israeli doc 'No Other Land' has scored a U.K. TV deal with Channel 4.
This is the first announced TV deal on “No Other Land,” which is directed by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists – Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor and Basel Adra. The project began in 2019, when Adra met Jerusalem-based journalists Abraham and Szor, who were reporting on Israeli evictions of local residents, and offered his first-hand perspective on events. While “No Other Land,” which is sold by Austrian documentary sales outfit Autlook, has been picked up for distribution in 24 countries, the politically sensitive doc has been unable to find a distributor in the U.S., where it still managed to open theatrically on Jan. 31 with Cinetic Media facilitating bookings via Michael Tuckman Media.
