The nominations for the 96th Oscars are being revealed Tuesday morning, with the announcement of nominees taking place beginning at 5:30 a.m. PT during a presentation at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Both are expected factor highly when names are unveiled this morning, with Barbie, 2023 biggest box office movie, scoring the most mentions (five) when the Oscar shortlists in 10 categories were released last month. Also expected to be in the mix are a pair of international features that established their buzz back in Cannes — Justine Triet’s Palme d’Or winner Anatomy of a Fall and Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest — looking to secure major nominations.
