Oscar Nominations Pushed to Jan. 19, Voting Extended by 2 Days Due to L.A. Fires

The Academy has extended the voting deadline for Oscar nominations by two days due to the devastating L.A. fires.

“We want to offer our deepest condolences to those who have been impacted by the devastating fires across Southern California,” the email read, in part. The voting extension comes as a slew of Los Angeles-area premieres and events have been canceled or postponed amid the horrific fires. Wednesday morning’s live SAG Awards nominations with Joey King and Cooper Koch also pivoted to being unveiled in a press release.
