The Oscars have announced updates to its timeline, extending the nomination voting period and rescheduling key events in light of the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. Due to the still-active fires in the Los Angeles area, we feel it is necessary to extend our voting period and move the date of our nominations announcement to allow additional time for our members.” Dozens of critically acclaimed films and performances encapsulate this year’s awards contenders, which include — Sean Baker’s dramedy “Anora” with Mikey Madison, Jon M. Chu’s blockbuster musical “Wicked” with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, and Edward Berger’s religious thriller “Conclave” with Ralph Fiennes — all expected to be among nominees.
