Oprah Winfrey reveals she left Weight Watchers to avoid conflict of interest with upcoming special about prescription weight loss drugs


Oprah Winfrey, 70, revealed on Thursday that she left Weight Watchers due to her upcoming new special about the rise of prescription weight loss drugs.

The 70-year-old TV icon, shown in March 2018 in New York City, was asked by Jimmy Kimmel why she decided to leave Weight Watchers after being on the board of the lifestyle firm since 2015 Oprah, shown in January 2023, admitted to People last December that she had been using weight-loss medication for her dramatic body transformation - after previously denying she would ever take Ozempic or similar drugs to lose weight 'It is a very personal topic for me,' said Oprah in a press statement quoted by BET: 'and for the hundreds of millions of people impacted around the globe who have for years struggled with weight and obesity.'
