The famed media mogul, who is a former Academy Award nominee herself, presented a tribute to Quincy Jones with Whoopi Goldberg at the event, which was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, March 2. Several A-listers hit the red carpet for the affair, wearing their best outfits for the shindig which is to celebrate excellence in filmmaking, honoring achievements in areas such as acting, directing, cinematography and writing. “I can’t even begin to tell you what it means to me – a person who wanted nothing more in my life than to be in The Color Purple,” the beloved TV host shared about her experience in an interview with Essence Magazine.
