Opioid Action-Thriller ‘King Ivory’ Lands U.S. Theatrical Release With Saban and Roadside Attractions as Universal Takes International (EXCLUSIVE)

The opioid action-thriller starring Ben Foster and Melissa Leo had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

Also starring James Badge Dale (“The Departed”), Michael Mando (“Better Call Saul”), Rory Cochrane (“Black Mass”), Ritchie Coster (“The Dark Knight”), George Carroll (“The Town”), Sam Quartin “(Candy Land”), newcomer Jasper Jones and Oscar nominee Graham Greene (“Dances with Wolves”), “King Ivory” is described as a “fentanyl expose” based on extensive research with law enforcement, gangs, inmates, migrants and addicts. Set against the backdrop of the opioid epidemic as fentanyl floods the market, “King Ivory” follows Tulsa drug cop Layne West (Dale) whose son Jack (Jones) becomes an addict. “John and I are grateful to Saban for a wide theatrical release of our beloved ‘King Ivory,’ which entertains while presenting an insider’s look at the horrific effect of fentanyl via a stellar ensemble cast performance,” said Rosen.
