One Day star reveals wife's key role in helping him land role
One Day star Jonny Weldon plays Ian in the Netflix drama - and has revealed that he has his wife to thank for the role after she pushed him to audition for the new adaptation
Appearing on ITV's Lorraine this morning, Jonny revealed that he wasn't going to audition for Netflix's adaptation of David Nicholls' book until his wife Lucy urged him to go for the role. Jonny have previously taken on roles in Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon, BBC comedy The Outlaws, Channel 4's Stath Lets Flats and film The People We Hate at the Wedding. The Netflix star rose to fame in the BBC's This Is Going To Hurt, before which she worked as a personal assistant at publishing house Conde Nast whilst performing stand-up in the evenings.
