Netflix showed off its sprawling footprint across Europe during its Next on Netflix event, including Omar Sy's 'French Lover.'
Another intriguing title on Netflix’s French slate is “Nero,” a “Monte Cristo”-style series set in 1504 in the South of France starring Pio Marmai (“The Three Musketeers”) as a cynical assassin who was betrayed by his long-term ally and seeks revenge. ” We are fortunate to collaborate with incredible artists to create series and films that tell unique stories and captivate our subscribers,” she said, pointing to “Astérix & Obélix: The Big Fight,” “French Lover” and “Néro,” which she says are “just a few examples of the richness and variety of our offering in 2025.” The U.K. may be one of Netflix’s biggest productions hubs, but almost all of the local shows for 2025 previewed at the event held in London’s Picturehouse Central — including Lena Dunham’s upcoming series “Too Much,” “Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials” and “The Thursday Murder Club” — had all been previously announced.
