Olympic star rushed to hospital after extreme attempt to lose weight and disqualification from games

Olympian Vinesh Phogat has been rushed to hospital in Paris after being disqualified from the games just hours before her final, as she was a mere 150g overweight

Indian Olympian Vinesh Phogat has been hospitalised in Paris after going to extreme lengths to lose weight in order to compete in today's wrestling final, 7 August. The athlete had learned earlier in the week that she was 2kg over her 50kg threshold and had gone to great measures to shed the pounds - including jogging and cycling through the night. However, Australia's dreams at the men's hockey tournament were dashed earlier this week by the Netherlands, who smoothly sailed into a 2-0 victory, knocking the Aussies out of the game.
