Olympic star admits ‘terrible mistake’ after cocaine arrest in Paris

Australia hockey star Tom Craig has issued an apology after he was arrested for trying to buy cocaine during the Olympic Games in Paris, where he was part of the Australian squad

The 28-year-old spent Tuesday night (August 6) in police custody after being arrested, and was released on Wednesday with no prosecution and no fine. Addressing the issue, Anna Meares, Australia’s chef de mission at the Paris Olympics, said yesterday: "I can confirm that Australian hockey player Tom Craig was released tonight with no conviction but a warning from a French judge. She also confirmed that Tom has lost all of his privileges at this year's Games and has moved out of the Olympic village, where the majority of athletes stay during the event.
