OJ Simpson's cause of death as controversial former sports star dies aged 76
Former sport star and controversial US figure OJ Simpson has died aged 76, following reports earlier this year that he was battling cancer, something he's said to have denied
It was reported in early 2024 that the American former football running back had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and on Wednesday, 10 April, he succumbed to the illness. However, he later became one of the US' most controversial figures, after his ex-wife, Nicole Brown-Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, were found stabbed to death outside her Los Angeles home in 1994. But OJ's brushes with the law didn't end there, as in 2008, he faced robbery charges, accused of storming a Las Vegas casino-hotel with a group of men in 2007 and stealing sports memorabilia at gunpoint.
