Oh yes he did! Vernon Kay tops up his '£300K' BBC salary with a three-week stint in panto after one million listeners tuned out of his Radio 2 show
The presenter, 50, who was a controversial choice to replace the beloved broadcaster when he quit the BBC last March, will appear in Aladdin at the Wycombe Swan in High Wycombe.
Many big name BBC stars such as Bradley Walsh and Craig Revel-Horwood regularly appear in panto during the festive season and pocket six-figure salaries for doing so. And while they're desperately trying to claw back the dwindling fanbase, Bruce's (pictured) replacement Vernon Kay will be topping up his salary with a three-week stint in panto this year Kay, who is thought to be on a salary of around £300,000 at the BBC, will present his normal mid-morning slot on Radio 2, which runs from 9.30am-12pm, before hot-footing it to the Buckinghamshire town to appear on stage (pictured with his wife Tess Daly)
