Norah O’Donnell Signs Off As ‘CBS Evening News’ Anchor: “This Has Been The Honor Of A Lifetime”
O'Donnell will be succeeded by a retooled newscast with John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois
“The CBS Evening News is, for good reason, the longest running evening newscast in America, and it has been powered by the finest journalists around the world — the correspondents, producers and researchers and crews who work tirelessly to bring you the news every night,” O’Donnell said. Although it has remained in third place, she stood out for landing some high profile interviews during her tenure, including Pope Francis, and investigations into sexual assault in the military that led to congressional action. On Monday, CBS will introduce an overhauled evening newscast anchored by John Dickerson and Maurice Dubois, moving the show back to New York.
