No Teamsters Casting Deal Yet As Union Looks To Schedule Extra Dates With AMPTP
The union announced in a statement on Friday evening that “it’s clear that the AMPTP will need more time to respect and compensate Los Angeles and New York Casting Professionals fairly.” As Deadline reported earlier this week, the core priority during this negotiation cycle is wage increases and protections, including establishing minimum rates for casting directors. This is also the first round of bargaining since casting assistants voted to join the union, and codifying annual wage increases for that group is among the Teamsters’ priorities as well.
