Nicole Kidman Thanks Jodie Foster for Replacing Her in Panic Room When She Was 'in a Really Bad Way'
Nicole Kidman and Jodie Foster recalled when Foster took over Kidman's role in director David Fincher's 2002 film 'Panic Room.' Kidman thanked Foster for taking the part, recalling, 'I was in a really bad way.'
"Like, Nicole, I took over a movie that you had to leave," she said, prompting Kidman to reflect on why she dropped out of Panic Room, directed by David Fincher. Entertainment Weekly reported back in 2001 that Kidman dropped out of the movie due to a knee injury she sustained while filming Moulin Rouge that prevented her from meeting physical requirements for the Panic Room role. Stewart, who turned 11 during Panic Room's production, recalled spending time with Kidman before Foster stepped in during a January 2022 interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
