Nicole Kidman Dedicates ‘Babygirl’ Award to Late Mom: ‘This Is For You’

Nicole Kidman gave a moving tribute to her late mom Janelle Ann Kidman while accepting an award for ‘Babygirl’

In her speech, Kidman thanked Babygirl director Halina Reijn and dedicated the award to her late mother, whom she said she was “still grieving.” Nicole had left the Venice Film Festival early on September 7 to return to Australia upon learning of her mother’s passing. The statement continued, “I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heart-breaking, and my heart is broken.” Janelle is survived by daughters Nicole and Antonia, 54.
