Instagram/@fallontonight Comedy and acting veteran Nick Kroll, truly gifted with wit and snarky self-deprecating humor, fell prey to a classic birthday paradox at The Tonight Show during his recent visit. “I don’t need anything, okay?” followed by a rapid-fire scroll of things he definitely doesn’t want: an appearance from Roots, or to dance to Ginuwine’s “Pony” (famous because of its connection to his “hall pass,” involving Channing Tatum), or some English dude announcing the birthday by just muting his pint with a bloody nose (“that’s my kink,” he jokes, then immediately takes it back). The segment ends with a surprise for Kroll, much to his protests—a thoroughly ridiculous birthday song and a pie in the face from the very British announcer he “didn’t” want hanging around.
