Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs Contribute Unreleased Tracks to LA Wildfire Benefit Compilation

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and PJ Harvey are among the artists who have contributed to a Los Angeles wildfire relief compilation.

Girls, Cave’s side project Grinderman and a one-off supergroup led by Flea and John Frusciante also provide tracks to Los Angeles Rising, which was curated by Love & Rockets’ Kevin Haskins and producer Nick Launey, both of whom were forced to evacuate during the wildfires. “This harrowing experience and witnessing the monumental destruction of entire communities, inspired Nick and I to team up to create a compilation album to raise money for the less fortunate. Among the tracks on the Los Angeles Rising comp — which benefits Sweet Relief — are Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ unreleased “Michelangelo,” Devo’s “Shoulda Said Yes,” and Jarvis Cocker’s rendition of the Mamas and the Papas’ “California Dreamin’.”
