The seven-part series depicts Mary's (Moore) molding of her beautiful and charismatic son, George (Galitzine), to seduce King James VI of Scotland and I of England and become his all-powerful lover. In the movie, based on Robinne Lee's popular novel of the same name, Anne Hathaway plays Solène, a 40-year-old divorced mother who is forced to chaperone her teen daughter's trip to the Coachella Music Festival.
