NHL Playoffs First-Round TV Schedule Set: Stanley Cup Chase Starts Saturday

The NHL has released the TV schedule for Round 1 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, which begin Saturday, April 19, on TNT.

The final games of the wild 2024-25 regular season are tonight, and today the NHL released its TV schedule for Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Discovery sister nets TNT and truTV: the Presidents Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets hosting the surging St. Louis Blues at 3 p.m. Pacific time, followed by the Colorado Avalanche visiting the Dallas Stars at 3:30 p.m. The Eastern Conference matchups feature the Washington Capitals — whose captain Alexander Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky’s all-time NHL goals record this month — against the unlikely wild card Montreal Canadiens; the Toronto Maple Leafs, who haven’t won the Cup since 1967 vs. the Ottawa Senators, who made the playoffs for the first time since 2017; and defending champion Florida Panthers against in-state rival Tampa Bay Lightning.
