NFL To Drop “End Racism” Phrase From Super Bowl End Zone & Instead Feature “Choose Love”
The NFL is removing the "End Racism" phrase from the end zone at Caesars Superdome, where Super Bowl LIX will occur in a match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the January AFC Championship game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills, the slogan on their end zone was “Choose Love.” “The Super Bowl is often a snapshot in time and the NFL is in a unique position to capture and lift the imagination of the country,” McCarthy added. McCarthy said that the phrase “Choose Love is appropriate to use as our country has endured in recent weeks wildfires in southern California, the terrorist attack here in New Orleans, the plane and helicopter crash near our nation’s capital, and the plane crash in Philadelphia.”
