NFL Issues Statement After Viral Palestine-Sudan Flag Protest at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Performance


The league clarified that the protest during the Grammy winner’s performance was unplanned.

The National Football League has issued an official statement after a dancer waved a flag featuring the colors and names of Palestine and Sudan during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on Sunday (Feb. 9). In the widely circulated clip, the unidentified dancer is seen standing atop the GNX car used in Lamar’s set, raising the flag with “Gaza” and “Sudan” boldly painted across the fabric.Security reacted swiftly. When asked about the proposal on Friday (Feb. 7), Trump told reporters that Israel would “give” Gaza to the U.S. and claimed his idea to assume control of the region—currently under Hamas governance—has been “very well received.”
