NewsNation Is Latest to Pitch for Harris-Trump Presidential Debate
NewsNation made a bid to host a presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump
“I’d like to offer an alternative that would satisfy both candidates — not to mention the American public — a fair, respectful and even-handed debate on NewsNation, co-sponsored by The Hill,” said Compton, referring to the political-news media outlet also owned by Nexstar. “Yes, NewsNation is a relatively new player in American media,” said Compton, who pointed to praise the network received after it televised the third and final presidential primary Republican debate in December. That event was moderated by NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas; independent broadcaster Megyn Kelly; and the Washington Free Beacon’s Eliana Johnson.
