New York Judge Lifts Parts Of Donald Trump’s Gag Order In Hush Money Case

Trump will now be free to make statements about the jury and witnesses.

The New York judge who will sentence Donald Trump next month has lifted parts of his gag order on the former president. Judge Juan Merchan issued an order today that allows Trump to make statements about witnesses and jurors in the case, but leaves in place restrictions on what he can say about prosecutors, court staff and their families. In May, a jury convicted Trump of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, stemming from hush money payments paid to former porn star Stormy Daniels.
