New report reveals female artists received only one in five Grammy nominations and wins over the last EIGHT years


Men led the nominations in 94 per cent of the Grammy categories between 2017 and 2024, with women accounting for 19 per cent of those nominated and winning awards in that time.

Winners of the gong over the past eight years include Pharrell Williams, 51, Greg Kurstin, 55, Andrew Watt, 35, and Billie Eilish's brother, Finneas O'Connell, 27. Later that year Grammys chief Neil Portnow told reporters backstage he thinks women need to 'step up' to become part of the industry. In 2020 Nicki Minaj tweeted: 'Never forget the Grammys didn't give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard'
