New Radio 1 host Jamie Laing is slammed for making a dig at predecessor Jordan North while sharing private BBC email: 'Shame on you!'

New Radio 1 host Jamie Laing has been slammed by fans for making a dig at Jordan North while bragging about the success of his show.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 35, took over from Jordan's Drivetime slot earlier this year and took to Instagram on Thursday to share a private company email which detailed the listener growth over the past few months. The former Strictly contestant, whose grandfather created the McVitie's digestive biscuit, admitted 'I am posh' as he reflected on his privileged upbringing and being sent to a private boarding school by his wealthy parents. But the Made In Chelsea star stands firm that he deserves the Radio 1 gig, revealing he first applied for the role years ago but the BBC rejected him for being 'too posh' and inexperienced.
