New Music Friday: Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, Muni Long, Halle Bailey and More Valentine’s Day-Appropriate Tunes
Plus, new projects from Kelela, Coi Leray, Mereba and more.
Valentine’s Day is here, and artists including Muni Long, Mereba, Halle Bailey, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have dedicated new music to the romantic occasion. For bedroom anthems, spin Muni’s new single “Slow Grind,” Drake and Party’s “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” and Bailey’s “Back & Forth.” For a calming vibe, put on Mereba’s “A Breeze Grew a Fire” and Kelela ’s first live album, “In the Blue Light.” If you’re in your feelings, Coi Leray EP “What Happened to Forever,” CHOCC ’s “Would U Leave,” and Offset ’s “Ten” might be a more appropriate listen. Indie and alt-rock artist Bartees Strange gives a narrative on the terrors of living in the rural south as a queer, Black man on his vulnerable fourth album, “Horror.”
