New Jersey Mayor Wants to Shut Down Jon Bon Jovi’s Charitable Restaurant
A New Jersey mayor has spoken out against Jon Bon Jovi's charitable restaurant, JBJ Soul Kitchen, saying, “I definitely want it gone."
"If they're going to turn this into a homeless shelter, hell, cut everybody a check and give them a Barnes and Noble gift card," Toms River Mayor Daniel Rodrick said. He and his wife, Dorothea, also gave back by openin the JBJ Soul Kitchen, a non-profit community restaurant with four locations in the rocker’s home state of New Jersey. While the pop-up is set to close in May, Toms River Mayor Daniel Rodrick has voiced his opinion on the initiative, reportedly claiming that the restaurant is increasing the town’s homeless population by encouraging unhoused people to go the venue.
