A seventh film in the series was in the works, but was derailed by the departures of Melissa Barrera and co-star Jenna Ortega, plus the lack of a director after Christopher Landon’s exit. Her last appearance in the series was 2022’s fifth “Scream” film, reprising her role as final girl Sidney Prescott. Campbell was interviewed on the red carpet by IndieWire at this weekend’s BAFTA Tea event in Los Angeles, and said she was not opposed to a return.
