Netflix is kicking off its Milestone Movies: The Anniversary collection with films that are turning 50 in 1974 — a group that happens to include some of the medium’s all-time classics. The anniversary collection includes Roman Polanski’s “ Chinatown ” with Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation” with Robert Duvall and Harrison Ford, Mel Brooks’ “ Blazing Saddles ” with Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder, Martin Scorsese’s “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” with Ellen Burstyn, Jodie Foster and Diane Ladd, Robert Clouse’s “Black Belt Jones” with Scatman Crothers and Gloria Hendry, Robert Altman’s “California Split” with Jeff Goldblum, Elliot Gould and George Segal and Michael Winner’s “Death Wish” with Charles Bronson. Also available are Karel Reisz’ “The Gambler” with James Caan and Lauren Hutton, Jack Clayton’s “The Great Gatsby” with Mia Farrow and Robert Redford, Larry Cohen’s “It’s Alive,” Stanley Donen’s “The Little Prince” with Bob Fosse and Wilder, “The Lords of Flatbush” with Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler, Alan J. Pakula’s “The Parallax View” with Warren Beatty and Paula Prentiss and “The Street Fighter” with Sonny Chiba.
