Netflix viewers are left shaken by 'horrifying' true crime series: 'It's one of the craziest docs I've ever seen'
The three-part series tells the story of Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn who became known as the Gone Girl hoaxer couple in 2015 after the former was abducted from their home in Vallejo, California.
American Nightmare includes footage of the boyfriend in police interrogation rooms being questioned about an argument with his girlfriend over messages she had found on his phone shortly before her disappearance. Similarly, commentators in the new series stated Huskins 'looked more like a suspect,' adding: 'I've never heard of a case where the kidnappers drop their victim off at the front door of their house.' Muller was later sentenced to a further 31 years to serve concurrently after pleading no contest to two counts of forcible rape of Huskins as well as robbery of an inhabited dwelling, residential burglary and false imprisonment.
